Time has been moving fast. I can’t believe it is almost October! We had a beautiful gathering and celebration for my mom at the end of June. Mom has visited me in my dreams on several occasions which has been very comforting. I miss her and think of her everyday. The red-breasted nuthatch was sitting on her eggs in the tree cavity. Once they hatched there was a flurry of feeding activity which I loved! The babies fledged when I was busy with preparations to honor mom. I hope the nuthatches return next year…

• I am having a solo exhibition, titled how do you feel? at the Helzer Gallery at PCC Rock Creek. The gallery is located in Building 3 on the Rock Creek Campus: 17705 NW Springville Road, Portland, OR 97229. • What We (BE)HOLD is an open call show at Artspace in Lake Oswego, Oregon curated by Kendra Roberts. WASP LOVE received Best of Show! The show runs August 7 – October 30, 2026.

• New Climate impact report by Artists Commit in collaboration with

  Alert & Attuned: Attending to Our Climate Emergency. The report is an inspiring story of accountability to limit carbon emissions when organizing a group show with artists from around the world. The group exhibition at the Gretchen Schuette Art Gallery at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon was on display in Spring of 2025.

  
  

• Collective Effervescence is a three person show at the Reser that I am in with Susan Murrell and Friderike Heuer : February 5 – March 14, 2027.

Here are some installation shots I took of what do you feel?

I am happy to be showing Owed to The Mountain, 2021, 3 monoprint landscapes from my printmaking residency at PLAYA in January of 2024 and 5 ceramic bats made during my Township 10 residency in March/April 2024.

REAL, MEAL, DEAL, 2010 handset letterpress printed text on paper, ceramic.

The scales weigh the political, social, and economic ramifications of food in the age of globalization by juxtaposing provocative words on each scale face.

Using Language as my Witness, 2000, photo-lithography and handset letterpress-printed sexist, racist, degrading, antisemitic, derogatory, homophobic words are grouped and printed over a different woman’s face. The racial slurs do not correspond with the woman’s ethnicity.

Root Cause, 2026 – Thank you Lyn and Juvencio (Finquita del Buho) for helping me dig up long tomato roots to recreate the piece for this show.

In 2019, I made the word GREED out of roots for my installation WAKE.

I am excited to be showing $PEAK OUT again!

I invited poet Brian S. Ellis to participate with me in FALL OF FREEDOM, a national call for creative resistance on Friday October 2nd in the Helzer Gallery at ROCK CREEK PCC. Our event is part of a nationwide resistance against fascism. what do you feel? is registered on the FALL of FREEDOM map because art matters and courage is contagious!

Brian will be reading some of their poems from 12:30 – 1 PM on Friday, Oct. 2.

In the 3-person show, Collective Effervescence, I will be displaying many mirrored eco prints made from wasp loving plants at the Art Gallery in the

Patricia Reser Performing Arts Building in February, 2027. My attention is now centered on realizing different aspects of WASP LOVE on a grander scale and reimagining the wasp sculptures I made during my GLEAN residency in 2025.
