I cut the fruit skin carefully, eat the flesh, scrape the inside, and turn it inside out before stitching it back together. It is tricky business because the peel is fragile and tears easily. These stitched fruit sculptures reveal the underbelly, the side you aren’t supposed to see.  I am thinking about vulnerability, mending, skin, texture, historical trauma, and environmental collapse. The fruit objects are subversive in their imperfection.
