Fall colors are popping.

Our political horror is taking a toll on our community.

I made …with liberty and justice for all when I was very pregnant with my first son, Max for the Artadia Award Exhibition in San Fransisco in 2000. I handset hundreds of derogatory, slang, racist, misogynist, antisemitic, anti-queer, words of hatred and then letterpress printed them on red, white, and blue pieces of vellum. I cut the prints into strips and wove them into a tapestry of bigotry and prejudice in the pattern of the U.S. flag. This piece is also a response to Congress’s inability to pass The Equal Rights Amendment (first proposed in 1923, to be part of the USA constitution). I am very pleased that it was purchased by the Library of Congress in April–it is more relevant than ever especially under this administration!! Thank you Lux Mentis!

15 Ink Blots, #2, Leporello accordion, 15 unique ink blot drawings, cover: photogravure etching on Gampi paper stretched over Plexiglas, 8″ x 6″ x 1″ (closed), 204” long, 17 folios, 2024

My first inkblots were a critique of standardized psychological testing. 30 years later, my fascination with making them continues–mesmerized by rich textures, striking shapes, and delicate lines created by chance. For me, the subversive inkblot is a conduit to our expansive imagination.

15 Inkblots, #3 is the only one still available. If you are interested please get in contact with me. I will have it at my table at CODEX X Feb. 7-10, 2026

The Glean Artist Residency exhibition in NW Portland in April/May of 2025 was a thrilling experience. Thank you to all who came out for the reception. It was wonderful to share my process, my experience during the residency,

and the work I completed for the exhibition. 95 – 100% of all materials used were gleaned from the Portland Transfer Station. It was very challenging which made it especially rewarding. I worked with many new materials. Thanks to Mark Burdon and Bjorn Larson for helping me trouble shoot different applications of joining materials. I enjoyed learning from my cohort: Epiphany Couch, Mai Ide, Marsha Mack, Chris Lael Larson and our leader Leslie Vigeant. All photographs of the exhibit were taken by Mario Gallucci.

I made 9 different wasps, 4 wasp nests, dill plant, lotus flower and pear leaf.

In October I participated in the fourth fundraiser by artist collective arts4action mentored by rosenclaire. Collectively we raised $20,000 to support Doctors Without Borders. To learn more about our efforts go to: arts4action.com

Here are some in-progress images of Wasp Love

The book structure is a thick board book so it can house 5 smaller booklets, 5 pop-ups, and still open flat. The story answers how and why we should create habitat and live alongside these industrious invertebrates.

Diversity page – There are so many different species of solitary wasps it will blow your mind!!

Eco printed plants that wasps love… dill, Queen Ann’s Lace, cosmos, bachelor buttons, oregano etc.

Pop-up pressure printed oak gall, collaged pressure printed oak leaves and hand painted gouache galls on repurposed stone lithograph (made in 2017 at Kala Art Institute) mono print of an oak tree printed on the large off-set press at Mullowney Printing in August 2025.

Photo gravure etchings of plants developed and printed on Gampi paper by Paul Mullowney. I inserted an accordion piece of Zerkell paper and machine stitched the bottom. Plant names and wasp silhouettes will be printed on the Zerkell. The double-sided booklets will be in a pocket in Wasp Love.

I have a lot of work left to do in order to finish this complex project in time for CODEX. Special thanks to my collaborator Kate Taormina, book binder extraordinaire Rory Sparks, and Mullowney Printing Company.

The edition size for Wasp Love is 16. If you would like to reserve your copy please reach out to me.

These are very hard times. We need each other more than ever. Let’s figure out how to protect and care for one another while saving the planet from ecological destruction.

Courage and strength!

love and solidarity,
