Old bible, drilled holes

12" x 10" x 3 1/4"

2005

Family Values is part of the Architecture and Allied Arts Library collection at the University of Oregon

Family Values boldly drills the LGBTQ pride symbol (an upside down pink triangle reclaimed from the Nazi regime as a symbol of solidarity) through the text block of one of the most influential books in the world. The book truly becomes the holey bible exposing discrimination and magnifying the irony of religious might resulting in violence and destruction.

Negative into Positive is a necklace made from the material (cut circles from pages and cover) retained in the hollow paper drill bit.
